54th School Anniversary cum Speech Day
8 November, 2025

We were delighted to host a wonderful celebration for our 54th Anniversary & Speech Day to honor both a major school milestone and the outstanding achievements of our students. Our sincere thanks go to the IMC members, graduates, staff, and parents who joined us for this special occasion.

Our Principal, Dr. Wun Chi Wa, opened his speech by reflecting on his ten-year journey at Wa Ying. He extended his sincere gratitude to every individual and collective experience that has made his time with the school so significant.

We were deeply honored to have Alumnus Prof. John Lee Chi-Kin, JP (Hoh Seh), President and Chair Professor of Curriculum and Instruction, as our distinguished guest. After expressing gratitude to the Methodist Church, Wa Ying, and our dedicated teachers, he shared an inspiring message for our students. Through the backronym "WA YING," he defined the core values every Wayinger should embody: Wisdom, Adaptability and Ambition, the courage to be Yourself, Imagination and Innovation, a respect for Nature and Neatness, and a life of Gratitude and Generosity. As a proud Wayinger himself, Professor Lee generously presented the school with a beautiful calligraphy piece inscribed with the words ‘咀華含英、榮神益人’. He concluded his segment by presenting certificates to our prize winners.

Following the presentation of long service awards to our dedicated staff, the event was further elevated by melodious performances from our School Choir and Wind Band.

The Coronation Ceremony was a key highlight, beginning with a speech by alumni representative Ms. Siu Suk Han (Chun Seh), who shared fond memories of her enduring connection to the school. We then honored alumni from milestone years for their contributions, before welcoming our current S4 students into a new phase of their journey through a Blessing Ceremony, where class representatives received the school badge as a symbol of our support.

Looking to the future, the Principal introduced the Campus Enhancement Project, outlining the planned upgrades and thanking the various parties involved. The celebration concluded with a refreshing reception for our guests, marking a memorable and joyous occasion.
