“Traces of Time: Delineating the Past – Capturing the Present” is a collaborative exhibition presented by V54 artists-in-residence, Lau Ying, alongside Wa Ying College and Ying Wa College. The exhibition took place at V54 from 21 to 23 August 2026. To prepare for the exhibition, teachers and over twenty secondary school students embarked on an immersive two-day plein-air sketching workshop across Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, Sheung Wan, and Central.

Through field studies, outdoor sketching, and interactive visits to various local exhibitions, our young artists gained firsthand insight into the creative pursuits of artists across generations. This initiative empowered students to engage directly with their local communities, cultivating a grounded sense of cultural identity and planting the seeds for future artistic creation.

Guided by a cohesive framework of field inquiry, creative practice, and reflective synthesis, the experience deepened students' arts appreciation of historic site preservation, honed their architectural sketching techniques for public showcase, and strengthened their cultural values by bridging personal experiences with local heritage.
